John Adkison, M.D.

Dr. Adkison received his undergraduate degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, and his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed two internships: one in medicine at Harvard University and one in surgery at the University of California in San Diego. He also completed the Orthopaedic Residency program at the University of California in San Francisco.

Adkison finished a fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Shyler DeMill, D.O.

Dr. DeMill received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale. He completed a five-year residency program in orthopedic surgery at Doctors Hospital and Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH, through the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. DeMill then completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center in Westerville, OH.

DeMill treats a wide array of orthopedic problems, with special interest in the lower extremity. He focuses on foot and ankle, sports medicine, reconstruction, arthroplasty and trauma.

Robert Greene, M.D.

Dr. Greene received his undergraduate and medical degrees from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He completed his comprehensive surgical internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada, followed by a four-year orthopedic residency at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario. He then completed two years of fellowship subspecialty training in sports medicine and hip and knee replacement surgery.

Greene practices general orthopedics with an emphasis on hip and knee replacement. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Alan Greenwald, M.D.

Dr. Greenwald received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Jefferson College and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his internship at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, OR. He then worked as an orthopedic assistant surgeon in the in Seattle. He also completed a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery in San Francisco.

Greenwald was on the faculty at the University of California, San Francisco, where he taught joint replacement and shoulder surgery. He is board-certified and an examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Greenwald specializes in all arthroscopic rotator cuff and instability conditions. He also has an interest in geriatric orthopedics, treatment of common hand problems and joint replacement.

Gene Griffiths, M.D.

Dr. Griffiths received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. He also served as a general medical officer at Camp Zama, Japan for the U.S. Army.

Griffiths is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He practices general orthopedics, with an emphasis on trauma, sports medicine and adult reconstructive surgery.

John Hwang, M.D.

Dr. Hwang received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, and his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He also completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins. Hwang then completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Hwang is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He specializes in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder problems, arthroscopic surgical treatment for upper extremity problems and shoulder replacement.

Thomas Kennedy, M.D.

Dr. Kennedy was born and raised in Yakima. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from Washington University. He completed a two-year general surgery internship followed by four years of orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota, where he also held the position of assistant professor in the sports medicine section of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, before deciding to return to Yakima.

Kennedy is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and has a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries and conditions of the knee and shoulder, including arthroscopic surgery. He also treats arthritic conditions of the knee, performing partial and total knee replacement.

Anthony Longo, M.D.

Dr. Longo received his undergraduate degree in molecular biology from the University of Texas at Austin, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, wherehe also completed his orthopedic residency.

Longo is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

Longo has been in practice as an orthopedic surgeon in central Washington since 2007. He practices general orthopedics, with an emphasis on sports medicine and total joint replacement of the knee and hip.

Todd Orvald, M.D.

Dr. Orvald received his undergraduate degree from Duke University in Durham, NC, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. At Duke Medicine, he completed a surgical internship, residencies in general surgery and orthopedic surgery, as well as pediatric orthopaedic and orthopaedic pathology fellowships. He has also served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

Orvald is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He practices general orthopedics with an emphasis on spine surgery and joint replacement.

Roy Pierson, M.D.

Dr. Pierson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons who has been practicing orthopedic surgery for over 25 years. He received his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He completed his surgical internship at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO, and his orthopedic residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. He practiced in Alaska for 13 years and California for two years before moving to Yakima in 2005.

Richard Roux, M.D.

Dr. Roux received his undergraduate degree and master’s degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto and his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He completed the Orthopaedic Residency program at Harvard University and a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He also completed orthopedic biomechanics research fellowships at UCSD and Beth Israel Deaconess  Medical Center/Harvard University.

Roux is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Sports Medicine. He is the chief orthopedic team physician for the Central Washington University athletic teams.

Roux specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and the treatment of disorders of the knee and shoulder. His goal is to restore maximum function through comprehensive treatment and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Raymond Snyder, M.D.

Dr. Snyder received his undergraduate degree from Washington State University in Pullman, WA, and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed the Providence St. Peter Hospital Family Medicine Residency program in Olympia followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at Pacific Sports Medicine in Tacoma.

Snyder is board-certified in family practice and sports medicine, serving as the team physician for local area professional, college and high school teams. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.

Neurosurgeons

Dave Atteberry, M.D., MSc

Dr. Atteberry received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship, neurosurgery residency and stereotactic radiosurgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Atteberry specializes in the treatment of a variety of spinal conditions and performs several procedures including minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical disc surgery and replacement, lumbar disc surgery, and scoliosis correction (adult and pediatric).

Michael Chang, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Chang received his undergraduate degree from New College of Florida and his medical degree at Mayo Medical School at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he also completed the residency program in orthopedic surgery.

Chang completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of California in San Diego. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Chang specializes in surgeries of the spine, including the neck and lower back. He has a special interest in degenerative spinal conditions, and computer-assisted and minimally spine surgery.

Hoan Tran, M.D.

Dr. Tran received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica.
