Astria Regional Medical Center Celebrates Healthy Heart Month in Style

YAKIMA, WA (January 31, 2013) – February is National Heart Month, and to celebrate, Astria Regional Medical Center is inviting the public to heart healthy events all month long.

On Friday, February 1, Astria Regional Medical Center is hosting the 4th annual Healthy Heart Expo. Join us from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the auditorium for free blood pressure checks, free massage, free drawings and healthy snacks. Enjoy heart healthy information and demonstrations from more than 25 community partners. Admission is free.

On Tuesday, February 5 the annual Heart & Sole mall walker’s event kicks off at the Valley Mall in Union Gap. From 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. people can come get a free blood pressure check, free breakfast and participate in a special mall walker’s activity with prizes.

On Saturday, February 9, Astria Regional Medical Center joins a host of healthcare providers around the valley for the 4th annual Save A Life CPR Blitz at the Yakima Convention Center.

On Thursday, February 21, Cardiologist Oscar Bailon, MD, will talk about preventative steps you can take today to keep your heart healthy in 2013 and beyond.

Throughout February, Astria Regional Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation staff will be teaching heart healthy classes.
